Perri Strawn, PhD, PCC is an executive coach and leadership development expert specializing in coaching senior executives and mid-career high-performing leaders. Perri works with clients on a highly customized basis, partnering with them to clarify a coaching topic and identify a set of objectives for the coaching engagement. She creates a safe haven for clients to explore issues in depth and breadth, leading to practical approaches to resolve immediate issues and build long-term leadership capacity. Recent coaching topics have included developing executive presence, building leadership scale, becoming an inclusive leader, cultivating emotional intelligence, and developing influence and organizational savvy. In addition to working individually with coaching clients, Perri is a skilled public speaker and facilitator.
In her 17+ years as an executive at The Advisory Board Company in Washington, DC, she was instrumental in launching the firm’s leadership development business, designing and delivering curriculum for hospital executives. As an executive with EAB, she also helped launch the firm’s higher education practice, bringing best practices in leadership and strategy to university administrators. As an independent leadership consultant and executive coach she has worked with hundreds of senior leaders across prominent healthcare, media, professional services and technology firms.
Perri holds a BS in Journalism from Northwestern University and a PhD in social-cultural anthropology from Yale University. She completed her coaching training with New Ventures West, is a Fellow with Harvard University’s Institute of Coaching and a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) with the International Coaching Federation. As a trained meditation teacher (University of Pennsylvania Program for Mindfulness and UC San Diego Center for Mindfulness), she uses a variety of mindfulness approaches to support her clients.
