Jennifer Christian Murtie is a partner at Ballentine Partners and leads the firm’s High Net Worth Practice which caters to clients with $3.5 million to $25 million of investable assets. The team provides a fully integrated approach to financial planning and investment management. The team also provides clients access to the investment strategy enjoyed by the full range of the firm’s family office clients, scaled to fit their particular circumstances. Prior to joining the firm, Jen spent fifteen years with Pathstone/Federal Street Advisors, where she served in many different roles over those years including President, COO, and CMO. Jen was named a “Rising Star” in the wealth management and family office industry by Private Asset Management (PAM) magazine. Jen was named one of the Ten Outstanding Young Leaders by the Boston Chamber of Commerce in 2015.
Prior to Pathstone/Federal Street, Jen spent six years working at The Moriah Fund in Washington DC. She worked with the single family office and served as the foundation’s Administrative Director, where she oversaw the day-to-day operations of the organization. Passionate about philanthropy, she serves on a private family foundation board and the board of World Hope International. She previously served on the Professional Advisors Committee of The Boston Foundation, the Wealth Advisory Council of Charities Aid Foundation America, the Massachusetts Board of the Trust for Public Land and the Investment Committee of the Fair Food Fund. She is a member of the Boston Estate Planning Council.
Jen received her BA in sociology and international relations from Houghton College and obtained her MBA from the Simmons School of Management.
